In this post, I’ll show you how to take a simple packet of Indomie Mi Goreng instant noodles and customize it with fresh vegetables, a sunny-side-up egg, and crispy fried onions. It’s a quick and satisfying way to upgrade your stir-fried noodles with minimal effort.
Mi Goreng, or Mie Goreng, is a popular Indonesian dish featuring fried noodles. The term “Goreng” means fried, while “Mie” refers to the noodles. Indomie is the brand of the Indonesian company that produces the Mi Goreng instant noodles.

My son is a self-proclaimed mie goreng connoisseur, so I often make Mie Goreng, or bami goreng, from scratch. However, there are days when a tasty meal in just 10 minutes is all we need. Opening a packet of Indomie is easy and convenient. When I go for such a quick and satisfying option, I do like to add a few extra ingredients from the pantry alongside the included spice packet to make it a bit more special and flavorful.
You can find Indomie Mi Goreng packets at Asian grocery stores, and many larger supermarkets. You can also purchase them in bulk on Amazon.

Customization Options
This dish is a fantastic way to use up any leftovers in your fridge. For example, after having Soto Ayam yesterday, I had some leftover vegetables that worked perfectly.
Feel free to make it your own by adding other veggies like spinach, broccoli, bok choy, cabbage, leeks, or bean sprouts for added crunch. You can also mix in proteins such as grilled chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
For garnish, use fried shallots, pickled cucumber, or spring onions. It also goes well with some crispy krupuk (shrimp chips) on the side.
